Eggs:
- Skip the bagel and replace with an egg white omelet and slice of whole grain toast. It’s much more filling and much less calories

Soup:
-Researchers speculate that even the simplest soup satisfies hunger because your brain perceives it as filling.

In honor of National Heart Month, the best place to start getting heart-healthy is right at home with what we stock for ourselves and our children.
Tips for Change:
1. Make healthy eating fun for the whole family: color code foods with stars and stickers, use green for healthy and red for less healthy.
2. Make desserts less accessible: Hide the sugary, fatty desserts and keep the fresh fruits and vegetables easy to see and ready for consumption.
3. Take stock of what is inside: Once a month turn over your fridge and get rid of the foods that aren’t healthy and slowly incorporate foods that are high in fiber and low in fat.
4. Freeze Fruit for Fun: Offer up frozen grapes, bananas and orange slices instead of ice-cream.
5. Make healthy food appealing: It is much nicer to open the fridge and have everything all ready for you to splurge…cut up fruit, cut up veggies, have healthy toppings ready to go.
